This song is dedicated to every soul who has lived beside illness, loss, or fear - to those who have loved beside a hospital bed, stayed through chemo, pain, and sleepless nights, to those who have watched the person they love fade, yet refused to let go of light. To the ones who whispered “please wake up” into the dark, and carried on when their hearts were breaking. It is for all the silent warriors whose scars are invisible but eternal.
Note: This first raw draft was written last year while living between hotel rooms, with the TV on for cover, trying to sing quietly in the middle of chaos.
